For Theatres MotownHead Presents:

The SoulTrip Express

A Swinging Journey along the best destinations in Sixties Soul Music

The SoulTrip Express takes you on a whirling musical journey through the history of American soul music. We start at New York's Grand Central Station at Atlantic Records, the label of artists such as Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, and Aretha Franklin. The SoulTrip Express rides through Motown Records in Detroit (Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and The Supremes), and deeper South towards Memphis, Tennessee; 'hometown' of the famous Stax label of Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, and Eddie Floyd. Finally, the soul train heads to the Deep South to the Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama, where artists such as Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and the Staple Singers recorded their best soul songs.

Rhythm & blues, blues, gospel and soul music are all featured in this theatre show and they are authentically expressed by soul brother Brandon Delagraentiss (USA), the legendary Mr. Eddie Taylor (GUY) and swinging soul sister Cosmea Panka (SUR).
The SoulTrip Express Crew, a band made up of the splashing 5-piece brass section and the funk grooving rhythm section from renowned Dutch soul formation MotownHead, accompanies these vocalists on their journey through this rich American soul history.

Optional is to extend the MotownHead SoulTrip Express show with 70's Miami Soul star George McCrae.
In 1974 George McCrae recorded his worldwide smash hit ‘Rock Your Baby’ selling over 50 million copies and peaking number 1 in more then 40 countries and it’s album in the top more then 10 countries. In 1975 he was Grammy nominated as best r&b singer and toured all over the world with famous acts such as Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 and James Brown.
